TRAVEL COMPANIONS

Katie Davidson

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Katie has over 20 years experience working with bodies and the people who inhabit them. She graduated from the Brian Utting School of Massage in 1997 and has been in private practice ever since. Early in her career Katie began to practice Iyengar yoga in order to increase strength and flexibility so that she could better sustain the physical demands of massage therapy. She quickly realized that yoga is much more than an exercise program; it is an excellent tool for self-care and discovery.

Since 2005, Katie has been a teacher at Yoga Northwest in Bellingham. She Is an Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, a Certified Yoga Therapist, a Licensed Massage Therapist, and the owner of Repose Bodywork Studio.

Katie’s love of learning is one of her greatest strengths as a teacher. She regularly takes advanced bodywork and yoga trainings and is often exploring new ways of breaking down familiar poses so that they become more accessible and more relevant to the movements we do in daily life. From her years as a bodyworker Katie is able to offer her students insight into their unique physical patterns.  Drawing on the strengths of the Iyengar method, her instruction, is clear, informed, sequential, and kind. Her goal as a teacher is to create an environment that supports each of us to connect with the well of strength, quiet, and joy inside.
